Lenovo has shown at IFA the concept of its new Auto Twist AI PC laptop, which unfolds 180° and will rotate behind the user thanks to a motorized hinge. This was reported by The Verge.

It will be able to track the user’s movements and rotate the display to follow them. The laptop has several modes that can be changed by voice commands.

The laptop also has a tablet mode, when the screen is turned around to face the keyboard and folded. HP and Acer produced such laptops back in 2002. But the new laptop does this on its own, you just need to give it a command.

The concept version responds to voice commands within one to two seconds and rotates rather slowly. The laptop takes about 10 seconds to change position. The follow-me function works better.

“We’re still experimenting with that. A lot of these concepts don’t come to market, but you may see elements of them down the line. It’s got face tracking; it’s basically a video conferencing system built into a laptop. There’s a lot of accessibility potential,” explains Jeff Witt, Lenovo’s Chief Communications Officer.
