Google has released update 128 for ChromeOS, adding one of the best Windows features – quick window grouping. The update also introduced optical character recognition and several other features and improvements.

ChromeOS 128 introduces the function of snap groups, which allows you to group windows by two and resize each of them. Among other things, groups of windows can be saved to open them in the same state later. Unfortunately, for now, grouping only supports two parallel tabs, unlike Windows.

Among other changes, the system now features optical character recognition, which will allow you to extract text from photos. The text can be copied, searched, played back using the screen reader function, and even created into PDF files.

ChromeOS has also added an on-screen magnifier feature for voice reading of ChromeVox text. The magnifying glass will automatically follow everything that ChromeVox reads aloud. This is aimed at helping people with visual impairments.

In addition, we’ve made it easier for users to learn about and manage the status of privacy controls and permissions in apps. Now you can check everything in the settings of ChromeOS apps.

In addition, the update features automatic optimization of microphone volume for the best audio quality, better control of access points, and changes to the pinning of notifications so that they can be better distinguished from regular ones.
