Acer is joining the production of portable gaming PCs and has introduced a new competitor to Steam Deck and Asus ROG Ally – Nitro Blaze 7.
The new product from Acer looks similar to the Asus ROG Ally. It will have a seven-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1080p and a refresh rate of 144 Hz, and the screen will be touch-sensitive. Inside, there will be a Ryzen 7 8840HS chip with an integrated Radeon 780M GPU and 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM with a data transfer rate of 7500 Mbps.
In addition, the Nitro Blaze 7 will have a 50 Wh battery and a PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD drive up to 2 TB. But in addition to this, the PC will have a MicroSD card reader, which will increase the amount of available memory. The PC will run on Windows 11 and will have its own Game Space program, where you can add games from your libraries in game launchers.
The Nitro Blaze 7 will weigh 670 g, the same as the Steam Deck. It will support Wi-Fi 6E and have 2 USB Type-C ports with Quick Charge support. One port will be placed on the top and the other on the bottom. It would be an interesting solution to make 2 ports for charging the device, depending on how the user finds it more convenient to connect the device to the network in a particular situation.
The price of the portable gaming PC from Acer has not yet been announced.
