Sony admits defeat and shuts down the servers of the heroic shooter Concord on September 6, 2024. The game has already been discontinued, and all buyers will be refunded.

The game took only two weeks from launch to closure – Concord was released on August 23. As far as we know, the game’s sales did not reach 25,000 copies sold, which is not enough to support the game service.

In the short time that the game was available, its maximum online reached 697 simultaneous players, which is even less than the worst game of 2023, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum.

After eight years of development, Concord was launched as a game costing 1200 UAH ($40 without regional price) and aimed to compete with the free-to-play Overwatch and Valorant, which had long won their audience.

Sony failed to communicate to customers why they should leave a game in which they have already spent hundreds of hours and purchased dozens of skins in favor of a new paid competitor.

The developers of Firewalk Studios have promised not to stop working on the game and consider how they can come back with their game and win the favor of players.
