Buyers of Google Pixel 9 Pro XL smartphones are reporting problems with wireless charging – even when using the Pixel Stand. This is reported by 9to5Google.

It’s not uncommon for a charger to not work perfectly with certain smartphones, but one would hope that Google’s own wireless charger would work well enough to charge the company’s new Pixel 9 smartphones. Unfortunately, however, there are some problems.

Some buyers of the first models in the Pixel 9 series, including the Pixel 9 Pro XL, have found that wireless charging is a bit erratic. In posts on Google Forums(one, two) and Reddit, Pixel 9 Pro XL owners write that the device charges without problems at first, but after a few minutes, charging stops.

Google has not yet publicly acknowledged the issue, but one Reddit user wrote that Google support told him that “it’s a known bug that they are looking into with engineers.”

Interestingly, users who have encountered the problem indicate that the smartphone battery does not heat up. This suggests that it may not be a hardware problem, but rather something in the software. At the same time, there are no reports of similar problems with the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro.
