The fourth generation of the Skoda Superb is already in production, but the “third” Superb deserves to be mentioned as well. After all, if we start counting the history of the Skoda Superb since 2001, then about 1.6 million cars have been produced since then. And the third-generation model accounted for more than half of them, with a total of 840 thousand units produced.

To honor the model’s achievements, Skoda UK decided to build a unique car – the Skoda Superb Sleeper Edition wagon. In keeping with its name, it looks like a “sleeping” beast that hardly stands out from the outside: a familiar design, a pleasant green color, and luxurious Laurin & Klement equipment with an exquisite interior.

But there’s a lot of power inside! The 280-horsepower 2.0TSI turbo engine is based on a larger turbo, a new intercooler and fuel system, as well as the appropriate software to control all this goodness. The result is a phenomenal increase in power and torque – 477 hp and 661 Nm respectively!

All this is sent to a 7-speed DSG transmission, and then to all four wheels thanks to the available all-wheel drive system. AP Racing brakes with ground discs and 6-piston calipers help to cope with the high power and dynamics. To improve handling, a sports adjustable suspension has been installed, and the ground clearance has been reduced by an additional 50 mm.

The Skoda Superb Sleeper Edition will not become a production car – it will remain as a single unique copy, which will complete the career of the “third” Superb model. Nevertheless, for many people, this is the kind of wagon that could become a “dream car” worth a lot of money: an incredible combination of practicality and hidden power!
