The Ukrainian studio Berko Games invites players to try the first demo of the space exploration game Jitter, which was released as part of the Ukrainian Games Festival 2024 on Steam.
Jitter is a sci-fi exploration 2D survival game where you play as the artificial intelligence of a spaceship. A mysterious crash causes large-scale destruction of a mining colony in the Main Asteroid Belt. As an artificial intelligence system, you need to find and rescue your crew. It’s up to you to achieve this goal, or to fail.
Jitter combines a one-bit aesthetic, a multi-layered gameplay system, and a story in the best traditions of classic science fiction. The game can be described as a kind of mix of Noita, FTL: Faster Than Light and Heat Signature.
One of the key features of Jitter is the environment destruction mechanic, which encourages out-of-the-box thinking. Exploring a mining colony, you will complete a variety of missions, build ships and bases using various modules, manage your team, and deal with the consequences of boarding skirmishes, accidents, and battles in outer space.
Jitter is conceived as a linear game that simultaneously tells an interesting sci-fi story and gives players the freedom to complete each mission in different ways. An enemy outpost can be bombarded with cannon fire, captured from the inside, or destroyed by a nearby asteroid, the fragments of which will tear through its hull.
Judging by the description on Steam, Jitter will have full English and Ukrainian localization, including voice acting.
Jitter is scheduled for release in 2025, but in the meantime, the developers are interested in players’ impressions of the demo, so add the game to your Wish List and leave comments in the game’s Steam or Discord discussions.
