Hangar 13 has officially unveiled Mafia: The Old Country, a new installment in the crime adventure action franchise that will be released in 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. More details will be announced in December 2024.

The teaser trailer released by the developers showed almost nothing, but still set the tone for the upcoming game. Mafia: The Old Country reveals the origins of organized crime through an action-packed mafia story set in the brutal underworld of 1900s Sicily.

“Across the first three entries in the Mafia franchise, we introduced players to the world of the Mafia through brutal stories set in different eras. In Mafia: The Old Country, we’re going back to the roots of what fans love about the franchise, crafting a deep, linear narrative with that classic mob movie feeling, visiting a stunning new setting, and delivering it all in a tight, focused package perfect for fans of immersive experiences,” said Nick Baynes, president of Hangar 13.

So far, no other details about the game have been disclosed, but social media has already noticed that although the game is set in 1900s Italy, Hangar 13 and 2K made a strange decision not to add Italian voice acting to the game, but added Czech and Russian.

The first Mafia game was released in 2002, and since then, the franchise has sold over 32 million copies on consoles and PCs. And now, along with the announcement of the new installment in the franchise, all previous games in the series can be purchased on Steam at a discount. The promotion will last until September 2.
