Ukrainian Games Festival 2024 has started on Steam. This year’s event is much bigger than the previous ones, and 5 new Ukrainian games were announced on the first day of the festival.
This year’s Ukrainian Games Festival 2024 features over 450 games created in Ukraine, which is 100 (!) more than in 2023. Of course, you already know many games, such as S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Metro, Sherlock Holmes The Awakened and other Ukrainian gaming classics, but there are also interesting little-known new releases.
Thus, on the very first day of the festival, five new Ukrainian game projects were announced at once. We have already written about Armageddonica, an action/RPG with RTS elements, separately, so let’s take a look at the other announcements.
Triomatica Games has presented Boxville 2, the next installment of the adventure game about funny tin cans living in a box city. The previous installment of the game, which is somewhat reminiscent of classic Amanita Design adventures, was released in 2022 and received very positive feedback from players on Steam (90/100 out of 188 reviews), and was also released on all modern consoles and mobile platforms.
Specialbit Studio has announced a humorous and philosophical point-and-click adventure Angelo and Deemon 2: Too Hell of a Quest, set in Paradise. This is the sequel to the 2019 game Angelo and Deemon: One Hell of a Quest, which has mostly positive reviews on Steam (72/100 out of 136 reviews). In fact, Specialbit Studio has seven Steam releases over the past 9 years.
The well-known indie developer TERNOX presented a free pocket dating simulator PockeDate!. It seems that after the success of STONKS-9800: Stock Market Simulator, the developer is doing well. According to the author, it’s not just a fun game, but also a real-life dating training! PockeDate! is to be released in the fourth quarter of 2024.
Another announcement of the first day of the festival is Bloody Cleanup by Grim Look. This is a single-player and cooperative simulator of an employee of a mysterious cleaning company that accepts orders from anonymous customers. Of course, you will be cleaning mostly crime cities. The game has horror elements. Bloody Cleanup is scheduled for release on October 30, 2024.

In addition, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that during the festival you can play demo versions of Ukrainian games, both those that have already been released and those that are still being prepared for release. For example, in Hollow Home, Sich Tactics, Robot’s Fate: Alice, Menace from the Deep, Cognition Method, Project Hover, and many others.
We also remind you that as part of the Ukrainian Games Festival 2024, the GTP Media team has also launched a major fundraiser for 50 FPV drones for the needs of the DIU. The fundraising goal is UAH 1.6 million, and exclusive prizes will be raffled off among donors, including flags signed by Kyrylo Budanov, exclusive T-shirts with DIU and Ukrainian Games symbols, as well as the opportunity to name the drones at their own discretion. As of August 19, 2024, almost 400 thousand hryvnias have been raised.
