On August 13, 2024, Google unveiled the new Pixel Watch 3 during the Made by Google presentation, and although there were no drastic changes, this time a new size and several useful innovations were introduced for the first time. However, one flaw of the previous generation has not been changed, and the smartwatch cannot be repaired.

According to Android Authority, the Pixel Watch 3, like the previous two generations of Google smartwatches, cannot be repaired. Instead, users whose devices have problems or damage can replace them.

Representatives of the company confirmed in a comment for Android Authority that in case of damage, owners of the watch should contact the support department to find out about the possibility of replacement. There are no repair options, such as screen or battery replacement.

For buyers in the US, the Preferred Care insurance program is available, under which watch owners can receive a new device to replace a damaged one for $49.

The company doesn’t mention the possibility of self-repair, but judging by the photo of the disassembled watch that was shared on social media, where Pixel Watch 3 is compared to the Apple Watch, this option is also unlikely.
