Ukrainian studio Corbie Games and Dutch publisher Iceberg Interactive have announced that Railroad Corporation 2, a railroad strategy game, will be released on Steam Early Access on September 9, 2024, and presented a new trailer for the game.

“Railroad Corporation 2 is a train tycoon game set at the turn of the 20th century, where you take on the mantle of a railroad magnate to start your new railroad corporation. Seize the opportunity of railroad electrification to lead the charge in the new era of trains. Strategize as you lay tracks, balance finances, deploy locomotives to ferry goods across vast landscapes, and outpace the competition,” reads the game’s description on Steam.

In other words, we are looking at a traditional railroad strategy, the basic concepts and basic mechanics of which have hardly changed since Sid Meyer’s classic Railroad Tycoon (1990).

It should be reminded that Railroad Corporation 2 is the third railroad-themed game by Corbie Games, founded in 2013, after Bounty Train (2017) and the first part of Railroad Corporation (2019). The latter received good reviews from players (Steam rating 75/100 based on 983 reviews) and a number of add-ons, the latest of which, the free Competitive Spirit DLC, was released on August 18, 2023.

Unlike Railroad Corporation, which took place in the middle and late nineteenth century, Railroad Corporation 2 is dedicated to the next stage of railroad exploration, the early to mid-twentieth century.
