Former Twitter CEO Omid Kordestani is suing Elon Musk’s X for non-payment of $20 million in shares. The lawsuit was filed in the California Supreme Court in San Francisco, Bloomberg reports.
Omid Kordestani held this position from 2015 to 2020. He was also a member of the Twitter board for two more years until Elon Musk bought the platform for $44 billion in 2022.
In a court filing, he explained that most of his compensation was in shares. However, Elon Musk, according to Omid Kordestani, refuses to pay.
The plaintiff’s lawyers emphasize that X Corp. seeks to “take advantage of Mr. Cordestani’s seven years of service to Twitter without paying him for it.”
By the way, X Corp. and its owner Elon Musk recently won one of the lawsuits filed over the dismissal of thousands of employees after the billionaire acquired the social network in 2022.
The lawsuit claimed that X and Musk owed at least $500 million in severance pay to about 6,000 laid-off employees. However, the judge disagreed with the plaintiffs’ claims.
