Apple has released the 5th beta of iOS 18, iPadOS, and MacOS Sequoia, which, among other things, also showed a completely new feature for Safari – a built-in Distraction Control tool that allows you to hide various elements on the browser page, including ads. This was reported by MacRumors.
Distraction Control allows you to manually block any elements on pages in Safari that may distract users. With the new tool, you can hide ads, cookie banners, various pop-ups, and more.
In social media, the new feature has already been called the “Thanos Effect” because of the effect of its application, which is very similar to what happened when Thanos clicked in the movie Avengers: Infinity War.

Users who have access to iOS 18 beta 5 and other operating systems can find the new feature in the page settings window in their browser. From there, you can hide new elements or show the ones you’ve already hidden.
It’s worth noting that all elements will have to be hidden separately on each page, and they won’t synchronize across devices. Still, this is not a full-fledged ad blocker, but a tool that will allow you to remove annoying elements on websites.
