Obsidian's first-person RPG Avowed may be delayed to early 2025. Reportedly, there were no problems during development and the game is ready for release in November. But due to the delay in the release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, Microsoft prefers to postpone Avowed so as not to create competition for the players' attention. PC Gamer writes about it.
Although GSC Game World is not an internal studio of Microsoft, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is released on similar terms - availability in Game Pass from the day of release and console exclusivity for Xbox.
Avowed comes out under similar conditions, and such a number of new games in one month will not only not benefit Obsidian's game, but will also leave Game Pass without high-profile releases for a while.
It is also worth remembering the release of Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Avowed has been in the works for a long time, first announced back in 2020 as a spin-off of Pillars of Eternity.
