Qualcomm has introduced a new mobile chip, the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2, which aims to make 5G more affordable and reliable. Among other things, the chip has other improvements, such as a processor for seamless multitasking and performance, dual-band navigation, and more.

The chip, manufactured on a 4-nm process, has a clock speed of up to 2 GHz, a Qualcomm Adreno GPU, and a 5G modem with a peak download speed of up to 1 Gbps.

Snapdragon 4s Gen 2

Among other features, the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 supports Qualcomm Spectra ISP image signal processing technology, which also provides hardware-based multi-frame noise reduction (MFNR) for higher image quality and electronically stabilized images.

The new chip also features Q-Sync technology, which automatically synchronizes the display refresh rate with the fps of the game. Another feature for gaming is the Game Network Latency Manager, which optimizes settings for optimal online gaming.

The 4s Gen 2 also has UFS 3.1 for fast data transfer and dual-frequency GPS with NavIC L1+L5 for improved location accuracy.

The Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 will first be used in a Xiaomi smartphone, and the first device with the new chip is expected to be announced by the end of 2024.
