Former U.S. President Donald Trump said during his keynote speech at this year’s Bitcoin Conference in Nashville that if he returns to the White House, he will make sure that the government never sells its Bitcoin assets. This was reported by CNBC.

According to Trump, the government has been violating the main rule that every cryptocurrency owner knows for too long – “Never sell your bitcoins.” Such statements by the former president came as the votes and campaign money of leading American fintech representatives came to the fore in the presidential race.

“This afternoon I’m laying out my plan to ensure that the United States will be the crypto capital of the planet and the bitcoin superpower of the world and we’ll get it done,” Trump said.

Among other things, in his speech, Trump tried to contrast the Republican Party’s commitment to cryptocurrencies with the Joe Biden administration’s strict regulatory approach.

“The Biden-Harris administration’s repression of crypto and bitcoin is wrong and it’s very bad for our country,” Trump said. “Let me tell you if they win this election, every one of you will be gone. They will be vicious. They will be ruthless. They will do things that you wouldn’t believe.”

After Trump’s speech, the price of Bitcoin dropped briefly, but later recovered and began to grow.
