Meta’s supervisory board said that the company has “not been clear enough” about the requirements for using artificial intelligence to create pornographic content and is not doing enough to stop the distribution of such content on its platforms. This was reported by Reuters.
This statement came after the council found two fakes of famous women that were created using artificial intelligence and posted on the platform.
At the same time, the company said it would review the council’s statement and provide updates on further changes to its social media policy.
At the moment, it is not reported which famous women’s fake images were published on the platform, only their nationality – one of the women was Indian and the other was American. However, Meta was unable to take any action against the fake images of the Indian woman within 48 hours, which is why the council decided to make this appeal.
It is known that users complained to support and sent reports of violations of the social network’s rules regarding the Indian woman, but no action was taken to resolve the problem. In the case of the American woman, the system automatically deleted the image.
