From June 27 to July 11, Steam hosted a summer sale with big discounts on a wide collection of games in the store. More than 400 thousand people bought Frostpunk, an urban planning simulator in extremely cold conditions, during this event.
As the developers of the game from the Polish studio 11bit studios reported to X on July 9, one copy of the game was bought every 2.3 seconds. This influx of buyers is explained by the fact that the game was sold with a 90% discount. In Ukraine, the game was available for only 60 hryvnias.
Recently, 11 bit studios also celebrated the sixth anniversary of the game's release and shared some statistics. As of April 2024, the game has been purchased 5 million times, and this does not include the new 400 thousand.
3% of all players have spent more than 100 hours in Frostpunk, and the average player spends about 24 hours in the game. Most of the players coped with the task and managed to save every person in the winter wasteland.
And soon, the sequel, Frostpunk 2, will be able to boast of similar achievements. We would like to remind you that the release of the new game has been postponedfor two months - to September. However, the developers from 11 bit studios promised to improve the game during this extra time.
