The Goodwood Festival of Speed in Goodwood, UK, was the venue for the presentation of the new MG HS crossover. The place of the debut was chosen for a reason: the MG brand is British, although it is now owned by the Chinese company SAIC.

But let's get back to the car. There were no revolutions with the change of generation - the MG HS crossover retained the classic SUV proportions, but received a more modern design and slightly increased in size: from now on, the length is 4655 mm (or 4670 mm for the PHEV version), and the wheelbase stretches to 2765 mm.

And - yes - now the MG HS crossover is available in a PHEV version. The combination of a 1.5-liter engine with 142 hp and an electric motor with 154 kW or 209 hp promises acceleration to "hundreds" in 6.8 seconds. And a large battery (about 25 kWh) promises an electric range of up to 75 miles or 121 km.

Of course, there is also an MG HS crossover with a conventional engine. Thus, the 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine produces 169 hp of power and can be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed DCT robot automatic.

This regular gasoline variant of the new MG HS will be the first to enter the dealer network for sales in Europe, which should happen within the current month. The car will start at 25 thousand pounds or $32 thousand.
