LEGO Group presents a set based on the movie Jaws by Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment. The cult blockbuster was released in 1975.
The set is called LEGO Ideas JAWS and consists of 1497 pieces. It has an age limit of 18+ and reproduces key elements and characters from the movie. For example, there are minifigures of police chief Martin Brody, marine biologist Matt Hooper, and sailor Sam Quint.
The set also includes the iconic boat with a removable roof and adjustable boom, as well as many accessories, such as a revolver, compass, fishing rod, harpoon, spear and yellow barrels, which played an important role in the plot of the movie.
The set can be placed on a stand with a JAWS LEGO shark model. There is also a plaque with the famous saying of Chief Brody “You’re gonna need a bigger boat”. The LEGO Idea JAWS set will be available in early August for $149.99. In addition, the LEGO Group, in partnership with Universal Products & Experiences, has created a mini-movie that describes the events of the movie in 90 seconds. It features favorite scenes, and at the end there is an unexpected minifigure showing director Steven Spielberg.
