Ukrainian horror game Plastomorphosis is out on Steam

Plastomorphosis is a retro horror game from a solo developer from Mariupol, who now lives in Kyiv.

The game tells the story of an ordinary person evacuated to Modern City, who tries to survive and accept the new reality as a “new citizen”. Plastomorphosis has a strong nod to the early 2000s and the PlayStation 1/2 consoles, both in terms of gameplay and graphics.

There’s a fixed, cinematic camera; the tank controls are no longer the usual ones (“modern” ones are also available). There is also an emphasis on the surrealism of events, puzzles, and a mysterious story.

We played Plastomorphosis during Indie Cup Ukraine’23, it’s an interesting game, although the controls and graphics take some getting used to.

Until January 31, 2024, Plastomorphosis is available on Steam with a 10% discount for only 107 UAH. There is no Ukrainian language in the game, only English.
