Nintendo announced that on April 8, support for all online services in their games and software on the Wii U and 3DS consoles will officially cease.

The online services include online games, cooperative play, online ratings, and data distribution. At the same time, players will retain access to game modes and features that do not require an online connection.

The only exception will be Pokemon Bank. As for games from other companies, Nintendo says to contact the publishers directly for details.

The company also says that “in the near future” users will continue to be able to download previously purchased content and updates to it.
