Late last year, OnePlus announced local sales of its new flagship smartphones. Now they are being launched on the global market. Having received many improvements, these devices also retain a slightly lower cost than the offers of top manufacturers.

The new OnePlus 12 retains the design of the previous model, but slightly increases the size of the body, while leaving Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the display, Gorilla Glass on the back, and an aluminum frame between them. The dimensions are 164.3×75.8×9.2 mm and weigh 220 grams. Water and dust protection has been improved to IP65. The color options include: Flowy Emerald and Silky Black.
The increase in body size is due to the screen, which has grown from 6.7 inches to 6.82 inches. The LTPO4 AMOLED matrix has a resolution of 3168×1440 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. At the same time, the screen has powerfully increased brightness, where the typical indicator is 600 cd/m², the entire screen at its peak demonstrates up to 1 600, and locally – up to 4 500 cd/m².
An optical fingerprint scanner is still installed under the display.
The rear camera unit has a three-sensor system of the fourth generation Hasselblad Camera. The main sensor, the Sony LYT-808, has 50 MP, 1/1.4 inch, 23 mm equivalent and ƒ/1.6. The ultra-wide-angle sensor has 48 MP, ƒ/2.2, and a 114° capture angle. More interestingly, the telephoto has been updated: now it is a periscopic sensor with a resolution of 64 MP, ƒ/2.6, 70 mm and an optical zoom of up to 3×, and with optical stabilization.
The front camera has doubled its resolution: 32 MP, ƒ/2.4 and 21 mm.
Of course, the new model also has the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor with Adreno 750. Cooling is provided by a proprietary system with a Dual Cryo-velocity VC evaporation chamber. And now, in all cases, the smartphone uses UFS 4.0 storage. The memory combinations are: 12/256, 16/512, and 16 GB of RAM with 1 TB of storage (24 GB of RAM with a terabyte of storage is exclusive to China).
The OnePlus 12 also has 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, an IR port, and several navigation systems. USB-C 2.0 now replaces 3.2.
The battery capacity of the new model has been increased to 5 400 mAh. It takes only 26 minutes to fully charge using a 100W power supply (in the US, only 80 W will be supported, which will increase this time to 30 minutes). There is also now 50 W induction charging, along with reverse charging, up to 10 W.
The OnePlus 12R became the first model with the R-index to reach global sales.
The body of this model is slightly smaller – 163.3 × 75.3 × 8.8 mm, 207 grams – and offers simpler protection against water and dust according to the IP64 standard. At the same time, the same materials as the flagship are used. The model is available in Cool Blue and Iron Gray colors.
The OnePlus 12R’s display is slightly smaller at 6.78 inches. It also has a lower resolution of 2780×1264 pixels, but retains the same refresh rate and brightness.
The camera section is much simpler than the flagship. There’s a main Sony IMX890 sensor with 50 MP, ƒ/1.8, and 24 mm. The ultra-wide-angle sensor has only 8 MP, ƒ/2.2, and a 112° capture angle. The third sensor is a macro with 2 MP and ƒ/2.4. The front camera has 16 MP, ƒ/2.4, and 26 mm.
The OnePlus 12R also has an older Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, and in the basic version uses a simpler UFS 3.1 drive. Memory combinations will offer 8/128 or 16/256 GB. The model also has simpler Bluetooth 5.3 and USB-C 2.0.
Despite the lack of induction charging, this smartphone has a larger 5 500 mAh battery and also supports fast 10 0W charging.
In addition, the manufacturer also offers new wireless headphones OnePlus Buds 3. The updated model has a similar design to the Buds 2 Pro, but with more gloss on the body. They will also offer dual drivers with enhanced bass, active noise cancellation, LHDC 5.0 support, up to 94 ms latency, IP55 water and dust protection, touch control, and up to 44 hours of playback time.
The new products will go on sale next month, and pre-orders have already started in some countries:
- OnePlus 12 will be available in stores starting February 6 for $800/€950 to $900/€1099;
- OnePlus 12R – from February 13, from $500 to $900/€700;
- OnePlus Buds 3 – from February 5, $100/€100.
The level of Ukrainian prices and availability is still unknown.
