Sundar Pichai talks about Google’s ambitious goals for 2024, with AI among the priorities

In a memo, Google CEO Sundar Pichai spoke about the company’s ambitious seven goals for 2024, writes 9to5Google.

They relate to artificial intelligence and cover both Google’s consumer and enterprise platforms. This year’s goals include:

  1. Deliver the world’s most advanced, safe, and responsible Al;
  2. Improve knowledge, learning, creativity, and productivity;
  3. Improve knowledge, learning, creativity, and productivity;
  4. Enable organizations and developers to innovate on Google Cloud;
  5. Provide the world’s most trusted products and platforms;
  6. Build a Google that’s extraordinary for Googlers and the world;
  7. Improve company velocity, efficiency, and productivity, and deliver durable cost savings.

Not surprisingly, the list is headed by AI. Only in December, Google introduced Gemini, its “most advanced and versatile artificial intelligence model to date,” which could be an important milestone in the development of AI. It will form the basis of the company’s products, such as Bard and Pixel 8 Pro.

Last week, Sundar Pichai advised the company’s employees to prepare for new layoffs in 2024. At the time, Google’s CEO said that the company had ambitious goals and would invest in big priorities this year. At the same time, he warned of difficult decisions.

Some of them have recently become known. These include layoffs and reorganization of the hardware and augmented reality (AR) teams, as well as the central engineering team.
