Future Battlefields will have “the most realistic destruction in the industry”
Ripple Effect Studio, formerly known as DICE LA, aims to create Battlefield with the most realistic destruction effects in the history of gaming, writes VGC.
Currently, Ripple Effect has an open position for a visual effects director, the description of which states that the studio is looking for “a senior 3D artist to help us create the most realistic and immersive destruction effects in the industry.”
According to Electronic Arts, the studio is currently working on “an all-new Battlefield experience that will complement and build on the foundations of the series.”
DICE is also working on multiplayer for future games in the series and will be working on a single-player campaign for the next game with Ridgeline Games, a newly founded studio headed by one of Halo’s creators, Marcus Lehto.
After the unsuccessful launch of Battlefield 2042, Electronic Arts decided to change their approach to the franchise. The company announced that in addition to a new approach to development, they also plan to create a new unified universe for the series.
As part of these plans, Vince Zampella, co-founder of Respawn and Infinity Ward studios, took on the role of overseeing the series after former DICE general manager Oscar Gabrielson left EA.
