Hyundai has debuted a new air taxi concept, the S-A2, at CES 2024 in Las Vegas, reports Engadget.

The electric vehicle with vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) is a continuation of the S-A1 model, which the company presented at the same event in 2020.

Hyundai sees the S-A2 as a daily transportation solution for urban areas that can transport passengers much faster than cars or buses.

The air taxi is capable of reaching a speed of about 193 km/h and flying at an altitude of almost 460 meters. The vehicle is designed for short-range flights from 40 to over 64 km.

The S-A2 has eight rotors and can accommodate a pilot and four passengers. It is being developed by Supernal, a Hyundai company. The vehicle is expected to be launched by 2028.
