Startup Humane laid off 4% of its employees this week. The layoffs affected 10 people and took place on the eve of the launch of the Ai Pin device, reports The Verge.

Humane co-founder Bethany Bongiorno described the layoffs as part of a broader organizational structure refresh as the company evolves for its next phase of growth.

She also announced that the company’s CTO Patrick Gates will move to an advisory position to spend more time with his family. In addition, as part of the reorganization, Humane has appointed new managers to the hardware, software, and human resources departments.

In November, Humane has finally presented its Ai Pin device. It is built around the Cosmos software platform, which allows you to use artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities for everyday tasks. Ai Pin costs $699.

At that time, it also became known that the device would be available for ordering on November 16. Its deliveries should start in March this year.
