Samsung has just started updating its lineup to Android 14 with One UI 6, but is already preparing for the next big update with the release of One UI 6.1, which is expected to debut with the Galaxy S24 series in early 2024. This update, revealed by an insider at Benit Bruhner Pro, is expected to introduce a number of generative AI features.

Key features of One UI 6.1:

Wallpapers with artificial intelligence: One of the most interesting innovations in One UI 6.1 will be an AI-based wallpaper generator, a feature that is part of the interface of Google’s Pixel smartphone but is not yet available in other manufacturers’ models. This tool will allow you to create your own wallpaper based on specific user requests, such as the name of an object and the desired background.

Advanced photo editor: The built-in photo editor in One UI 6.1 will offer additional features, including the ability to move objects by simply dragging and dropping. Users will be able to select a subject or object from one image and easily move it to another. The editor will also allow users to expand existing images in the gallery by adding details.

Automatic formatting of Samsung notes: This feature is designed to simplify note-taking by summarizing long notes into concise bullet points and automatically formatting handwritten notes after converting them to text.

Real-time translation of voice calls:
The new technology, based on Samsung Gauss, the company’s first proprietary base model for large languages, will allow voice calls to be translated from one language to another in real time, improving communication for both parties involved in the conversation.

Voice Focus: Voice Focus, initially available in mid-range and entry-level models, will now be extended to flagship smartphones with the One UI 6.1 update, improving voice clarity during calls.

Adaptive protection while charging the battery: This feature intelligently manages the charging process, charging the battery to 80% and continuing to 100% just before the user wakes up. In addition, the Maximum Protection feature limits the charge to 80%, potentially extending battery life.
