NordPass has revealed a rating of the 200 most common passwords

The developers of NordPass, a free password management program have released a ranking of the 200 most common passwords in 2023. They created this list in partnership with independent researchers.

The first place in the list is occupied by the password “123456”, which was used in more than 4.5 million cases. However, the password’s reliability is questionable, as it can be cracked in less than a second.

The second place goes to “admin,” which has been used in more than 4 million cases. It can also be hacked in less than a second. The third place goes to “12345678”. It was used “only” in 1.37 million cases. The password can also be cracked in less than a second.

The top ten most common passwords in the world also include: “123456789”, “1234”, “12345”, “password”, “123”, “Aa123456”, and “1234567890”.

NordPass noted that the password “123456” has gained a reputation as the worst password. Over the years, it has been recognized as the most common password 4 out of 5 times.
