The finals of the 2023 League of Legends World Championship, the thirteenth League of Legends MOBA World Championship, held on November 19, 2023 in Seoul, South Korea, attracted the largest online audience in the history of esports.

The final was watched by 6.4 million fans, and that doesn’t even include viewers from China.

In the final match, the South Korean team T1 and the Chinese Weibo Gaming faced off. The Koreans won with a score of 3-0.

Interestingly, 54% of T1 team shares are owned by the Korean telecommunications giant SK Telecom, and 34% by the American sports company Comcast Spectacor. While Weibo Gaming is wholly owned by the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo (the Chinese equivalent of Twitter/Facebook).

MOBA League of Legends is popular all over the world, but especially in Asia. Out of 8 teams that participated in the final part of the 2023 League of Legends World Championship, 4 are Chinese, 3 are South Korean, and only one is American.
