The updated RAM 1500 has received a lot of changes, and everywhere. Let’s start with the design. As expected, the “face” has changed: from now on, the RAM 1500 has new headlights and grille, updated front bumper, etc. Plus, new wheel options and body colors, a slightly modified rear end…
However, it’s not even the design changes that are more interesting, but the changes in technology. The RAM 1500 pickup truck retains the frame structure, but abandons the V8 engine – it is replaced by a 3-liter inline 6-cylinder turbo engine. Depending on the version, the new engine offers 420 or even 540 “horses”! In addition, the RAM 1500 pickup retains the atmospheric V6 3.6 engine with 309 hp for the base versions. Buyers can choose versions with rear or all-wheel drive, free or LSD differential, and an 8-speed automatic transmission will always be used as a transmission.
There are also interesting changes in the car’s interior. In short: displays, displays, displays. For example, the dashboard is made in the form of a 12.3-inch screen; a touchscreen display is installed in the center of the console – previously a 12-inch display was offered, and now a new 14.5-inch display has been added. Finally, there is even room for an additional display for the front passenger: navigation, entertainment, viewing images from on-board cameras.
What a “one more thing”! The RAM 1500 pickup truck is ready to offer a unique version of Ramcharger. This is a combination of electric motors and a RAM 1500 REV battery with an electric generator driven by a 3.6-liter V6 gasoline engine.
Thus, the RAM 1500 Ramcharger offers all-wheel drive thanks to two electric motors with a total output of 494 kW (672 hp) and a maximum range of more than 1,100 km. In the event of a complete discharge of the battery (92 kWh), the electrical system can be powered by a generator and continue driving.
The RAM 1500 pickup truck not only looks like a “real American” but is one in reality – production of the new model will soon begin in Michigan. The RAM 1500 is scheduled to start selling in early 2024.
