Ukrainian game artist Olga Gyshchak has won the Blizzard contest. Her artwork Teambuilding, which was submitted to the Blizzcon 2023 Art Contest, won and was shown during the Blizzcon 2023 broadcast, writes Gamedev.DOU.ua.
Olga Gyshchak, who is only 24 years old, graduated from the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute with a degree in art and worked as a 2D illustrator and character concept artist at Home Games (Ukraine), Yarki Studio (Ukraine), and Dreams Quest (Estonia). According to Olga herself, her dream is to get into the AAA games industry, for example, at Blizzard.
We hope that after her victory in Blizzard, the talented Ukrainian will be noticed, because Olga’s art is really made in the best traditions of Blizzard itself. The art for Hearthstone was created in the same spirit.
The stages of creating the winning illustration, which features Illidan, Tracer, Thrall, D.Va, Soldier: 76, Lilith, and many other Blizzard characters, can be viewed on the Artstation website.
