Starlink, owned by SpaceX, has reached breakeven. This information was made public by the company’s CEO Elon Musk, writes Reuters.

The billionaire attributes this result to “the excellent work of a great team.” In his post on the X platform, he also said that Starlink accounts for the largest share of all active satellites in orbit, with about 5,000 of them.

Recently, it became known that Starlink satellite communications may soon appear on smartphones. We are talking about the Direct to Cell service, which will allow you to exchange files, text and voice messages via a satellite connection.

The service is scheduled to launch in 2024. First, users will be able to send text messages. Starting in 2025, they are expected to be able to send file and voice information.

SpaceX is valued at about $150 billion and is one of the most valuable private companies in the world.
