Artificial intelligence is once again summoned to court, this time over Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett Johansson is suing Convert Software, a developer of an artificial intelligence program that copied the actress’ voice without her consent, reports Variety.

The actress appeared in a 22-second commercial for Lisa AI, an AI-assisted image creation program: 90s Yearbook and Avatar. The ad has now been removed.

Reportedly, the video used footage of Scarlett Johansson from the set of Black Widow, which later transitioned into an AI-generated video with an avatar whose voice and likeness resembled the actress.

According to Johansson’s representatives, she did not give her consent and is not a representative of the company that created the application and the materials from it were used illegally. They will take further legal action.

“We do not take these things lightly. Per our usual course of action in these circumstances, we will deal with it with all legal remedies that we will have,” said Kevin Yorn, the actress’ representative.

Earlier, Tom Hanks said on his social media that his appearance and voice were copied with the help of AI to be used in advertising, and before that, the famous blogger MrBeast called the TikTok ad using his AI version a fraud.
