YouTube star MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, called TikTok ads using his AI version a fraud, writes CNBC.

This is a commercial in which MrBeast allegedly offers an iPhone for $2. The star calls such fake ads a significant problem.

“Lots of people are getting this deepfake scam ad of me … are social media platforms ready to handle the rise of AI deepfakes? This is a serious problem,” he noted.

However, Jimmy Donaldson was not the only one to face this situation. For example, artificial intelligence was used to copy actor Tom Hanks for a dental ad. No one asked his permission. In his post on one of the social networks, Tom Hanks noted that has nothing to do with the fake created by AI.

The daughter of the late actor and comedian Robin Williams, Zelda Williams, also spoke out against such approaches. She called the AI recreations of her father circulating on the Internet disturbing.

Earlier it was reported that the voice of actor Stephen Fry was stolen from the Harry Potter audiobooks and restored with the help of AI.
