When it comes to working in large rooms, the signal of Bluetooth transmitters may not always be sufficient when, say, the headphones are far from a smartphone or computer. Together with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Snapdragon X Elite, Qualcomm also announced new S7 and S7 Pro audio chips, and the latter should help in such cases.

Thus, when the Bluetooth signal is not enough, the headphones will be able to switch to Wi-Fi, providing the user with sufficient connection for sound transmission without loss of quality. At the same time, the headphones (or other audio devices) will support local 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz bands. The technology is called Qualcomm XPAN (Expanded Personal Area Network).

In addition, the devices will be able to provide noise cancellation or ambient noise cancellation (ANC) to the headphones with the help of AI, and this time the company promises a significant improvement in such capabilities. These features are already the same for S7 and S7 Pro.

However, only users of smartphones and laptops with the new Qualcomm platforms (Snapdragon 8 Gen 3/X Elite) will be able to take full advantage of the S7 and S7 Pro headphones and speakers.

And given the release dates of the first such gadgets, the corresponding headphones and audio systems will have to wait.
