Apple is working on a cheaper version of the Vision Pro mixed reality headset. The first device will cost $3,500, while the company wants to release a model that will range from $1,500 to $2,500, reports Bloomberg.
The simplified version of the headset will have lower-resolution displays and use an iPhone chip rather than a Mac chip. In addition, Apple is considering removing the EyeSight feature, an external display that shows the user’s eyes, as well as reducing the number of cameras and sensors in the device.
It is also reported that the company is working on the second generation of the regular version of Vision Pro. The headset will have the same best features, but will be smaller and lighter for more comfortable use.
According to Bloomberg, the second version of the Vision Pro will be released “early next year.” No word on when we can expect a cheaper model.
