Google has added support for FullHD webcam quality for group calls in Google Meet. Previously, high quality cameras were only available for 1-on-1 calls.

The feature is available for Google Workspace users who have webcams with a resolution of 1080p or higher. By default, users will continue to use 720p, but before the call starts, participants will be prompted to turn on a higher camera quality, which can also be done in the settings.

Videos in 1080p will only be streamed when one or more viewers pin the user who has enabled 1080p on the screen. Meet will also take into account the screen resolution and internet bandwidth and adjust the video quality to match these factors.
