Prada will help design spacesuits for NASA’s mission to the moon

The famous Italian brand Prada will help develop spacesuits for the NASA Artemis III mission, which is scheduled for 2025, reports Engadget.

Axiom Space, the company chosen by NASA to create Extravehicular Activity Services (xEVAS) spacesuits for the lunar mission, has announced a collaboration with the fashion house. The two companies will work side by side throughout production.

Axiom Space is convinced that Prada’s experience will help create a spacesuit that will not only ensure the comfort of astronauts on the lunar surface, but also take into account the human factor, which was lacking in previous models of equipment.

“It is a true celebration of the power of human creativity and innovation to advance civilization,” said the Prada fashion house.

In the fall of 2021, NASA postponed the Artemis III mission to 2025. This is the first mission since Apollo 17 in 1972 to bring humans to the lunar surface.
