Paradox Interactive and C Prompt Games have announced a global turn-based strategy game Millennia, which spans thousands of years of human history. Yes, this is a competitor to Civilization.

The game will feature ten eras, both historical and alternative, which will successively replace each other, offering new units, buildings, new rules, and challenges. Each nation in Millennia can choose its own “national spirit” and area of interest, such as exploration, war, art, diplomacy, etc.

The authors promise to implement a complex economic system in Millennia based on resources and products, such as paper, tools, weapons, and so on. Combat units can be combined into armies, complementing the properties of other units. And of course, the game will feature the wonders of the world, a space race (including an encounter with aliens), financial expeditions, underwater cities, and much more.

The game is being developed by C Prompt Games, a studio created by industry veterans who have worked on such games as System Shock 2, Age of Mythology, Age of Empires 2: The Age of Kings, Orcs Must Die, StarCraft, Diablo, and WarCraft. On the other hand, there are no step-by-step global strategies in this list.

Millennia is scheduled for release in 2024. The game already has a Steam page, so you can add it to your Wish List.
