Google is cutting hundreds of jobs in its global recruiting organization. This was stated by Brian Ong, the company’s vice president of recruiting, according to CNBC.
“We unfortunately need to make a significant reduction to the size of the recruiting organization,” he said during the meeting. It wasn’t an easy decision, and it’s definitely not a conversation any of us would like to have again this year.”
According to Brian Ong, employees who will be laid off will receive the relevant emails.
The company also said that it continues to invest in the best engineering and technical talent, while significantly slowing the pace of overall hiring.
“In order to continue our important work to ensure we operate efficiently, we’ve made the hard decision to reduce the size of our recruiting team.”
In the summer, it became known that Google is cutting jobs in its Waze mapping service, as it is merging this division with its own mapping products.
