JBL presents Soundgear Sense, Live 770NC and 670NC headphones and PartyBox Ultimate speaker at IFA 2023

At IFA 2023 in Berlin, JBL announced a number of new audio products, including Soundgear Sense wireless headphones, Live 770NC and 670NC headphones, and PartyBox Ultimate speaker.

JBL Soundgear Sense

The headphones have an open design that allows users to hear ambient sounds while listening to music. They are equipped with ear hooks, IP54 sweat protection, and a removable neckband for added security during physical activity. The headphones also provide six hours of battery life, which can be extended to 24 hours with the charging case.

JBL’s Soundgear Sense headphones aim to go beyond the typical transparency modes found in other headphones. According to Carsten Olesen, President of Consumer Audio at JBL’s parent company Harman, the open design provides “a true connection to the outside world.”

Unlike Sony’s LinkBuds headphones, which have a hole for sound transmission, the Soundgear Sense headphones do not have noise cancellation, but are equipped with four microphones for clear communication. They support multi-point connectivity and will be available in black or white.

JBL 770NC and 670NC headphones

The Live 770NC and 670NC feature active noise cancellation and provide up to 65 hours of playback time, but the battery life decreases to 50 hours when Bluetooth and ANC are enabled. These headphones will be available in black, white, blue, or beige colors and support multi-point connectivity.

JBL PartyBox Ultimate

PartyBox Ultimate is a large Wi-Fi and Bluetooth speaker designed for events and parties. It features two midrange drivers, two tweeters, and two nine-inch subwoofers. The speaker supports Dolby Atmos and has enough power to fill an area the size of two basketball courts. It will be available in both the US and Europe.

Price and availability

The Soundgear Sense headphones cost €149.99/£129.99, the Live 770NC and 670NC headphones cost €179.99/£159.99 and €129.99/£119.99 respectively, and the PartyBox Ultimate costs €1,499.99/£1,299.99. The new products will be available in Europe by the end of August.
