Netflix is actively preparing for the new season. The streaming service showed a preview of cinematic novelties to be released this fall. Traditionally, every viewer will be able to choose something interesting for themselves. But take a look at the films that will potentially attract the attention of every viewer.
El Conde
Most people know Augusto Pinochet as the long-dead former dictator of Chile, whose 17-year rule was marked by thousands of state-sanctioned killings and the brutal suppression of his political enemies. But in the film El Conde, directed by Pablo Larrain, Pinochet is a 250-year-old vampire. Premiere date: September 15.
Spy Kids: Armageddon
When a maniacal video game developer releases insidious malware that gives him control of all the technology on earth, the only people who can fix it are the children of the world’s most talented spies. Premiere date: September 22.
The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar
Based on a short story by Roald Dahl, Wes Anderson’s new work tells the story of a man named Henry Sugar who wants to develop mystical powers in order to succeed in gambling. Premiere date: September 27.
The Devil on Trial
A new documentary by director Christopher Holt delves into the details of the trial of Arne Cheyenne Johnson, the first and only time demonic possession was used as a defense in a murder case. Premiere date: October 17.
Sister Death
The new horror film by Spanish director Paco Plaza follows the life of a young woman named Narcissa, who has a number of strange powers and tries to keep them to herself. But when she arrives to teach at a former convent turned girls’ school, which turns out to be plagued by supernatural phenomena, she finds herself involved in a terrifying fight for her life. The film does not yet have an exact release date.
The Killer
The film tells the dark story of a professional killer whose tenuous connection to reality begins to slip even further and leads him to violate his personal code. This seriously jeopardizes his plans for retirement. The film will be released in theaters on October 27, 2023, and then debuts on Netflix on November 10, 2023.
Leo
Adam Sandler voices Leo, a 74-year-old lizard, in this new animated comedy from directors Robert Marianetti, Robert Schmiegel and David Wachtenheim. After decades of living in captivity, Leo decides to fight for his freedom when he learns that he has only a year to live. Premiere date: November 21.
Family Switch
The director of the film immerses himself in the life of an emotionally distant family who, after a chance meeting with a fortune teller, change bodies on a very important day. Premiere date: November 30.
The Archies
Director and producer Zoya Akhtar and producer Reema Kagti offer a new interpretation of the popular Archie comic books in a musical set in 1960s India. The film’s premiere date has not yet been determined.
Leave the World Behind
The new drama from director Sam Esmail tells the story of how a family’s idyllic vacation is suddenly interrupted when they meet a pair of strangers. Premiere date: December 8.
Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget
After escaping from Mrs. Tweedy’s farm, the last thing Rocky and Ginger want is to be bothered by humans or to have their daughter Molly drawn into human madness. But when the chickens learn that their species is facing a threat on the mainland, the trio find themselves embroiled in yet another adventure – not for glory, but to save the chicken species. Premiere date: December 15.
Rebel Moon — Part One: A Child of Fire
