MSI has announced a new series of graphics cards based on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 GPUs – GAMING SLIM. While retaining the characteristic features of the already well-known GAMING series models, GAMING SLIM graphics cards are thinner and lighter, providing system build flexibility without sacrificing performance.

The GAMING SLIM adapters are available in black and white colors and feature RGB backlighting. Despite the thinner body, the developers promise to maintain cooling efficiency. The coolers are based on the MSI TRI FROZR 3 chassis with proprietary TORX FAN 5.0 fans. The CO also includes a nickel-plated copper base plate and up to 8 heat pipes in the center of the radiator that effectively dissipate heat. In addition, the adapters are equipped with a metal backplate with flow holes.

GAMING SLIM series graphics cards should be of interest to owners of compact cases for which the dimensions of adapters are of fundamental importance. In the same way, thinner models allow you to use more expansion slots on motherboards. In certain situations, this can be crucial.

The GAMING SLIM series will feature models from the GeForce RTX 4090, GeForce RTX 4080, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, GeForce RTX 4070, and GeForce RTX 4060 Ti lines. The technical specifications of the first available devices are already available on the manufacturer’s website.

For clarity, here’s an example of the size and weight conversions. The standard GeForce RTX 4070 Ti GAMING X TRIO 12G has dimensions of 337×140×62 mm and weighs 1594 g, while the MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ti GAMING X SLIM 12G version has dimensions of 307×125×51 mm and 1086 g.
