Microsoft has announced that support for the Xbox 360 Store on consoles and the Xbox 360 Marketplace will end on July 29, 2024. This is stated in the company’s announcement.

After this date, users will no longer be able to purchase new games, DLC, and other entertainment content for Xbox 360.

“Related to this change, the Microsoft Movies & TV app will no longer function on Xbox 360, which means TV and movie content will no longer be viewable on your Xbox 360 after July 29th, 2024.” added in Microsoft.

At the same time, the company emphasized that these changes will not affect the ability to play Xbox 360 games or DLC that users have already purchased.

“Xbox 360 game content previously purchased will still be available to play , not only the Xbox 360 console but also Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S devices via backward compatibility.” stated in the company.

However, VGC’s analysis suggests that after the store closes, users will no longer be able to play more than 220 digital games for Xbox 360. The fact is, not all games are available on disc or through the compatibility program on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S consoles.

As you know, this November marks the 18th anniversary of the launch of the Xbox 360.
