Humane to reveal a mysterious AI-based device during the eclipse in October

Humane, a startup founded by former Apple employees, plans to reveal more details about its mysterious artificial intelligence device on the day of the solar eclipse, October 14, writes The Verge, referring to the company’s co-founder, Imran Chaudhry.

“There’s an incredible celestial event that’s happening in October: an eclipse,” he said. “An eclipse is an important symbol for us. It’s a new beginning spiritually, that’s what it means. It’s something that the whole world notices and comes together. We are certainly looking forward to being able to have a special moment on that day.”

It is a device called the Humane Ai Pin. It is positioned as something that can replace users’ smartphones. During the TED conference in April, Imran Chaudhry used a device attached to his jacket at chest level to do everyday things. But he did so in an unusual way.

For example, he answered a call from his wife and Humane co-founder Bethany Bongiorno. However, he did not press any buttons to answer the phone.

Choudry also spoke a sentence that was translated into French using an artificial voice. He did not verbally indicate that he needed an interpreter. In addition, the startup co-founder was even able to view some emails and messages, although it is unclear where the device obtained this data.

In the spring, Humane announced a new round of $100 million in investments and partnerships with OpenAI and Microsoft.
