Less than a year after the debut of the model Osmo Action 3, DJI introduced its new version Osmo Action 4. The gadget received an improved camera that works better in low light conditions, as well as support for D-Log M.

The design of Action 4 has not changed compared to its predecessor. The recording button is on top, the power button is on the side, there is a touch display on the front and back (1.4″ 320×320 and 2.25″ 360×640, respectively), there is also a compartment for the battery/microSD cards and a USB-C port. The remaining battery life is 1770 mAh, they claim autonomy of about 160 minutes of video recording. Fast charging allows you to charge the battery to 80% in 18 minutes.

Camera sensor increased from 1/1.7″ in Action 3 to 1/1.3″ (same as drones Mavic 3 Pro, Mini 3 Pro and Air 3). For comparison, there is a sensor with a size of 1/1.9″GoPro Hero 11.The angle of view of the sensor remains 155 degrees, aperture f/2.8. The camera allows you to shoot video in 4K/120fps (10-bit HDR) in standard mode, but the resolution of the photo has decreased slightly: from 4000×3000 to 3648×2736.

The magnetic fastening system, which appeared in the last generation, has not disappeared anywhere. It allows you to attach Action 4 to a helmet, chest strap, bicycle handlebar and other compatible accessories in seconds. A separate GPS Bluetooth controller has appeared, which allows you to record such data as speed, road gradient, acceleration, distance traveled, and more.

Action 4 has moisture protection – the camera without additional accessories can be used for underwater photography at a depth of up to 18 meters (or up to 60 meters with a special case). The three built-in microphones have improved wind noise reduction, so the audio quality should be higher.

The action camera offers proprietary RockSteady 3.0 and RockSteady 3.0+ stabilization systems that make videos smoother. There is also a HorizonSteady system – it fixes the horizon, regardless of the position of the camera. In addition, Action 4 supports voice control, Wi-Fi streaming, custom shooting modes, and more.
