Samsung presented the first TV with LG Display OLED panel

Rumors and unofficial information that Samsung has the intention to use LG Display panels in TVs of its own production have been around for quite some time – since the end of 2021.

And finally it happened: Samsung officially presented an 83-inch OLED TV model in the S90C line (QN83S90CAFXZA), which is based on the LG Display WOLED panel with a 4K resolution. Considering the fact that models with smaller diagonals in this line use Samsung’s traditional in-house QD-OLED panels, this may confuse some buyers who do not pay close attention to technical specifications.

Otherwise, it’s a typical Samsung TV: with the company’s Neural Quantum processor, Tizen operating system, HDR support (but no Dolby Vision), Dolby Atmos, HDMI 2.1 ports (4K@144 Hz), solar remote control, etc.

The TV will go on sale in the US this week, with a suggested retail price of $5,400 — almost as much as the 83-inch LG C3 when it went on sale this spring.
