Samsung’s intentions to use LG Display’s OLED panels have been known for quite some time: Korean resource TheKoreaTimes reported this back in late 2021. And now it has become known that the companies have finally reached an agreement, and LG Display can start supplying Samsung Electronics with TV panels of its own production as soon as this quarter.

This is reported by Reuters, citing its own sources. According to their information, LG Display plans to deliver 2 million units next year, and increase the supply to 3 and 5 million in the following years. Most likely, the company will initially supply Samsung Electronics with 77- and 83-inch WOLED panels.

According to analysts, this deal will allow Samsung to overtake Sony, which is currently the second largest manufacturer of OLED TVs in the world. Both LG Display and Samsung Electronics declined to comment at this time.
