Threads will cross the 100 million user mark amid falling Twitter traffic
The number of users of the new Threads platform will soon reach 100 million, writes The Economic Times.
Meta launched Threads only last week for iOS and Android users in 100 countries, and is currently the most popular free app on the App Store and Google Play. The new platform crossed the mark of 2 million registrations in just two hours after launch, 10 million users in seven hours and 30 million in 12 hours. Currently, about 97 million people are registered in it.
Instead, Twitter is experiencing a drop in traffic. The corresponding schedule was published by the CEO of Cloudflare IT services management company Matthew Prince. It shows the decline in Twitter’s ranking in the Domain Name System (DNS) from January to the present.
It was previously reported that Twitter threatens to sue Meta over concerns about its new Threads platform. This is stated in a letter to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg from Twitter lawyer Alex Spiro.
In it, the lawyer alleges that Meta hired dozens of ex-Twitter employees to create Threads. Instead, Meta denied this information.
